Parkhill Health’s founders were pioneers in the era when key surgical procedures moved from inpatient to out patient hospital care – and finally to ambulatory care in freestanding surgical centers

The founders led development of the Texas Pediatric Surgery Center—the nation’s first free-standing pediatric surgery center, in 1999. The goal: to improve service to patients and surgeons and deliver excellent care more efficiently and cost effectively than health system based-centers. The center was a success—but we realized something more was needed.

Over time, we’ve broadened the Parkhill strategy to encompass an integrated network of facilities and affiliated independent physicians who would co-own and practice in them. While other physicians looked to facility ownership as a way to supplement their income, Parkhill sought to lower the overall cost of care while rewarding physicians for the productivity.

Because employed physicians were compelled to use health-system surgery centers, the cycle of higher facility costs became entrenched. Parkhill’s vision was to give independent surgeons an alternative to employment—and a framework for demonstrating quality, service and efficiency that can secure more equitable professional fees from health plans and lower the overall cost of care.

Today, as value-based reimbursement becomes the norm and the scope of ambulatory care expands, Parkhill Health continues to chart a new way forward. Danny LaCaze joined Parkhill Health in 2019 and brings two decades of national and international management experience and strategic insight to his role as chief executive officer.

With dedicated leaders and an expert team, we’re building an integrated network of Parkhill Imaging, Surgery and Surgery+ centers that delivers demonstrated quality, lowers overall costs and rewards independent physicians for the value they deliver. Through innovative facility design, enhanced operational efficiency and deep clinical collaboration, we’re creating a new model for ambulatory care that works better for everyone.

Parkhill Physicians

Through Parkhill Physician Group, independent physicians and surgeons can be part of an integrated practice network that lets them share best practices and collaborate to improve care. By delivering higher quality care at a lower price and practicing at our cost-efficient facilities, Parkhill-affiliated surgeons receive higher compensation from health plans than other independent physicians.

Parkhill also develops relationships with accountable care organizations that enable referring primary care physicians to be rewarded for lowering the overall cost of care.
