Parkhill Health is building our network of value-focused centers and physician groups to meet the long-term needs of managed care companies, self-insured companies and other purchasers of care. The advantages we deliver — efficient, high-performance facilities, assured quality through rigorous clinical management, superb patient service and satisfaction, and an overall lower cost of care—make Parkhill the ideal preferred provider.

Better operations
for better value

Health-system owned ambulatory surgery centers foster a skewed system of reimbursement. Facility fees are inflated because of health systems’ negotiating clout with payers—while physician reimbursement stays low and stagnant. In this antiquated model, the health system and its physician investors come out ahead to the detriment of patients, payers and non-owner physician ASC users.

The Parkhill model realigns reimbursement by combining better- designed and managed facilities with affiliated physicians who meet performance standards for clinical quality, cost containment and patient satisfaction. This high-value combination enables us to operate profitability while lowering payers’ overall costs, rewarding Parkhill specialists with enhanced professional fees, enables incentives for referring ACO primary care physicians and bringing patients high-quality care for less.

In this antiquated model, facility fees are inflated while physician reimbursement has been stagnant for decades.

Acquiring managed care
contracts at network rates

Health system-based ASCs are typically able to negotiate facility fees 400% to 500% higher than Medicare rates from managed care payers. One-off independent ASCs are fortunate if they can secure parity with Medicare rates. Because of the savings we bring, Parkhill Health has negotiated rates that are approximately twice the Medicare allowable. To secure these higher rates, Parkhill Health assures payers that all services in our Surgery+ Centers will be in network wherever possible, including anesthesia and other services.

The Parkhill model builds statewide networks of facilities under a single tax ID number. Because Parkhill operates as a private health care system that can ensure consistent cost and quality, we’re able to negotiate managed care contracts in advance with payers at network rather than independent-facility rates. Our unique Series LLC structure enables each individual center—jointly owned by Parkhill and local affiliated physicians—to participate in these contracts immediately instead of negotiating individually or waiting for payer accreditation.
