Facility development

Our management guides facility development from concept through completion. The 12- to 18-month development process for a ground-up Parkhill Surgery or Surgery+ Center includes five phases—some of which are sequential, some concurrent.

  • — Phase 1: Business plan/partnership development
  • — Phase 2: Facility design and development
  • — Phase 3: Facility construction and project management
  • — Phase 4: Equipment planning
  • — Phase 5: Licensure and opening

Physician governance

Parkhill takes a physician-centric approach. Our unigue series LLC structure, see below, allows for a greater percentage of physician ownership. All centers are governed by a board of managers with physician members.

Our facilities’ business dealings are straightforward and transparent— with no physician-owned distributorships and no out-of-network anesthesia or ancillary services. The center’s finance committee, comprising three physician investors, provides financial transparency. Finance committee members have viewing access to the operating account and are responsible for recommending a capital budget to the board and determining the frequency and size of distributions.

Our innovative
series LLC structure

We’re developing the Parkhill network with a unique series LLC structure that enables our centers to organize under a single tax ID number. The structure enables network-based contracting with payers and creates economies of scale. This approach—combined with other organizational and operational innovations—offers major advantages over traditional independent and health system-owned surgery centers
